The Emma Bridgewater Florence Nightingale is a timeless ceramic tribute to the lady with the lamp, featuring a detailed illustration of her life and work.
Florence Nightingale was born in 1820 and lived until 1910, the most famous of all British nurses and known as the founder of modern nursing.
Florence served in the Crimean war treating wounded soldiers. At night she carefully monitored them, patrolling the wards with a lamp. The soldiers called her the ‘Lady with the lamp’. The name stuck and remains to this day.
Florence founded St Thomas Hospital and the Nightingale Training School for Nurses. A truly remarkable woman who deserves a mug made in her honour, Emma Bridgewater has done a fine job.
The mug has a 284ml capacity, is made from English Earthenware and is Dishwasher safe.
