The Emma Bridgewater Kingfisher Mug features a delicate hand-painting of several Kingfishers, perching and watching.
The Kingfisher is a colourful bird with blue and orange feathers with tinges of brown white and green. The powerful beak allows the Kingfisher to catch fish out of our lakes, rivers and waterways. Sadly the Kingfisher is becoming rarer in the United Kingdom, and it’s always a delight to spot one. There are thought to be a few thousand breeding pairs.
The Kingfisher is a symbol of prosperity, love and peace and is believed to be the first bird that flew from Noah’s ark.
